Fanpac Music Tee

So I was lucky enough to be gifted this fab music t-shirt by Fanpac last week which was perfect given that logo tees are huge at the moment. I opted for their Pink Floyd ladies' t shirt as I love the fade-out design and black is an easy colour to style, especially in winter.

The tee is fitted and although I'm wearing it here with my Topshop Mom jeans it also looks great with a pair of skinnies. I have finished the look with my biker jacket and accessorised with a fur collar and understated necklace.

Stacking Rings & Wedge Trainers

Two of my favourite trends of the season. The trainers work perfectly with skinnies and an oversized jumper whilst the rings complement any outfit.

Bomber Jacket Envy

As insignificant as it may seem, over the last couple of months I have found myself struck down by recurrent bouts of what I can only describe as 'bomber jacket envy'.

Whilst it seems the majority of the fashion conscious public have bagged themselves an enviable little number, I continue to struggle in my search for the bomber jacket that ticks all boxes. The beautiful high end offerings are out of my price bracket (think overdone embellishment and metallic stitching), the bargain equivalents are tacky and just when I think I am close to making a purchase... my size is not available.

I love the sports luxe look, living in my wedge trainers and embracing the retro jewellery that goes hand in hand. However until I close the bomber sized gap in my wardrobe, I will continue to be dissatisfied! Therefore over the last few days I made it my mission to scour the internet and put an end to my suffering. Whilst many of my favourites were predictably out of stock, I ended up making a purchase in the form of the Warehouse lace print number with a few other bits and bobs along the way. Mission accomplished!

Dorothy Perkins £35-bright florals for the summer

Warehouse £17-subtle lace print

Topshop £30-quilted metallic for the cooler days

The Perfect Pinafore

I underestimated how hard it would be to find my perfect pinafore dress. The one I wanted in Topshop was never in stock and a couple I ordered from Asos swamped me. However, my efforts were not in vain and once again trustee eBay came to my rescue. I settled for this John Jack number in light wash denim, cute and feminine. It will probably become my staple summer throw on over a striped top or shirt.

Initial Necklace

Despite my love of statement jewellery, for my birthday I was after something a little more understated.

Having had initial necklaces in the past, I wanted something similar but a little more sophisticated. When I stumbled across this Harry Rocks piece with personalised engraved disk, I was very excited. Having chosen the specifics, I opted for a matte, silver disk with gold engraving. The contrast of the two metallics together looks beautiful and I am very much an advocate of supporting small, up and coming businesses.

The product is hand engraved and comes in a pretty box. I would definitely recommend Harry Rocks for quality and unique jewellery.

A Spring Investment

For a light, spring coat the trench coat is the perfect purchase. Instantly chic and perfect for the transition between seasons, I am excited to start wearing mine.

Unfortunately my budget doesn't stretch to the Burberry original but I was extremely smug when I picked this one up in the Zara children's section. At a fraction of the adult price, being little definitely has its perks!

Although London continues to be ridiculously cold-hibernation seems to be the only option-trench coats can be worn year after year; the military look is timeless. Perfect your look with a slick of red lipstick and some heeled ankle boots...

A Touch of Leopard Print

A touch of leopard print is my staple way to transform a plain outfit. Animal print is timeless and continuously on trend so when I saw this scarf in H and M I nabbed it.

Neon is going to be huge for SS13 and teaming bright colours with contrasting monochrome prints is proving to be a winning combination. Although I am trying to be careful with my money I treated myself to this Maybelline nail varnish in shade Pow Green. It comes out in an amazing neon shade when applied and is about as close as I get to statement nsils.

Still a huge fan of stacking rings and over the knuckle styles. Mine were a bargain from Asos.

Enjoy! X

Easter Weekend

In between gorging chocolate and drinking champagne I have managed to get a couple of outfit pics on my beloved new iPhone. This look is a combination of all my favourite outfit essentials: faux fur, statement necklace and animal print.

Monochrome is very much here to stay for SS13 but to add a splash of colour to the look I am wearing my fave Super Soft Super Skinnies in berry. For summer I am on the hunt for a baggy, high waisted pair of jeans in a light denim but unfortunately the Topshop 'mum' jeans always sell out! In the meantime I will be scanning the charity shops in hope of finding a bargain.

Happy Easter!

Reincarnation of the Dungarees

The very mention of the word above has the potential to instill terror into the children of the 90s; when parents thought it acceptable to dress the most feminine of girls in ill-fitting, stonewash dungarees and keep photographic evidence. I have seen many an image of me tottering around the garden aged two years old in an outfit not fit for decorating a house.

However, as the SS seasons approach, pinafore dresses and denim one-pieces are set to make a huge comeback. The high street is already brimming with style ideas to prepare for the warmer months and at the forefront are the very items we once loathed.

I absolutely love this versatile trend and for inspiration I have chosen Alexa Chung in her trademark denim dungarees and Nicola Roberts wearing a tailored black pair on a recent Girls Aloud night out. Having just purchased a pinafore dress from Asos here I plan to wear mine over a stripey top with leather brogues or ankle boots.

Here are some high street buys that caught my eye:

Topshop, £48
Missguided, £33.99

Check out the PHA fashion and lifestyle blog for my work.....

Just a quick post as it has come to my attention that I have been severely neglecting my blog of late. Having been busy at my recent placement at PHA Media, I have invested most of my ideas into writing features for the company blog which I am thoroughly enjoying. I am learning loads and honing my PR skills so I have nothing but positive things to say. Here is my latest post, selected by Account Exec Amy, on the dominant 'print' trend set to stay for SS13:

Prints in Monochrome

Monochrome is set to be huge for SS13 and unless you have been in hibernation, you will have noticed the shop windows teeming with bold black and white prints. Shirts, pencil skirts and body con dresses-the high street has plenty to offer the on-trend shopper IDEAS.

I often dress on the premise that if you go minimal by day and edgy by night, you'll be onto a winner. This Primark skirt was an obvious choice as when it comes to updating my wardrobe, I like to mix on-trend pieces with classic prints that never go out of fashion: think stripes and polka dots. Although black and white is perfect for creating a polished daytime look, I like to inject a bit of colour and vibrancy into my outfit when it comes to an evening out. To finish off the look I added a statement necklace and an oversized clutch.

The Fashionista's Winter Must-Haves

By all means wrap up in the winter seasons but fight that overwhelming urge to dig out the ski jacket. Here is my winter check-list to help you embrace the bitter cold and avoid looking like a windswept disaster.....
1. Faux Fur Gilets and Coats: Tried and tested way to keep warm whilst injecting a touch of vintage glamour into your look.

 2. Fluffy Jumpers: A cute way to layer up when worn over a collared shirt. Keep a clothes brush at the ready to get rid of the stray hairs that will cling to your coat!

 3. Leather Skirts:  A nod to the current goth influence and my leather obsession. Pencil skirts and midi-styles are bang on trend whether worn for a day at the office or drinks with friends.

4. Leather-Sleeved Jacket: Contrasting outerwear is leading the way for AW12. Whether your staple jacket is khaki, cream or black the texture clash is massive this season.

5. Polo Necks: Who needs a scarf?!

6. Tapered Trousers: Effortlessly chic and if you cannot face the inevitable frozen ankles, bring socks into the equation.

7. Over the knee boots: Invest in a quality pair to avoid replacing your favourites yearly. Whether flat or heeled they are ideal worn with shorts and tights, or over skinny jeans.

8. Fur Collar Coat: A timeless and versatile fashion favourite and charcoal grey can be worn with almost anything.

9. Long Sleeve Shirts: There are endless possibilities on offer ranging from lace trims, overdone collars, sequins and embellishment.

Wedge Trainers and Fur

In these arctic conditions it can be tempting to grab as many layers as possible and pile them on with no consideration of the potentially disastrous consequences. Teaming your dad's old fleece with an ill-advised, multi-coloured scarf acquired from an Aunt years ago may seem like a good idea at the time, but there are ways to keep the cold out without committing the fashion crime of the century!

For the winter months I have a checklist of 'must-have' items that provide much needed warmth whilst still looking glam. One such item is the fur gilet and whilst I will highlight the rest in my next post, here is my latest seasonal outfit. I have used a leopard print belt to add to the overall look and accentuate my waist. Note that I am not referring to the bright coloured, bomber jacket types (!) but the chic faux fur varieties worn by leading fashionistas such as Olivia Palermo.

In terms of jewellery, my latest obsession is this knuckle duster set of rings. After seeing Rosie Fortescue on Made in Chelsea wearing the amazing Maison Martin Margiela set BUY HERE, I managed to find a more purse-friendly option from Asos (link below).

Leather Sleeves & Bowler Hats

As the snow hit London I realised (a little late) that it was time to dig out my winter hats, gloves and general warm attire. Being a fan of vintage clothing, my wardrobe is littered with purchases I have picked up from various charity shops over the years, including this patterned jumper.

I love the bowler hat trend which is ideal for the colder weather. Injecting a bit of 'city cool' into your wardrobe can never be a bad thing and whether you wear yours to look edgy or smart, it works. I always get excited when fashions from the 1950s and 60s regain popularity and the bowler hat has undoubtedly secured its 'on-trend' status for the moment.  What I am wearing here is actually an old wooly hat that I have had for years-rolled up around the rim to look bowler-esque!

Leather sleeves are still huge. When it comes to fashion I think attention to detail is key and I love the texture contrast of this coat- wool teamed with leather. Black is timeless and below the knee coats instantly smarten up an everyday outfit.
